SEERC – KENTRO EREVNON NOTIOANATOLIKIS EVROPIS ASTIKI MI KERDOSKOPIKI ETAIREIA
SEERC is an overseas research centre of the University of Sheffield, established as a non-profit legal entity in Thessaloniki, Greece. The centre was founded by City College, the University’s International Faculty, in 2004. It is conducting multidisciplinary research & training in the fields of Enterprise, Innovation & Development, Information & Communication Technologies, and Society & Human Development. Being part of the University of Sheffield, provides high quality experience and skills in innovative learning and teaching methods with strong expertise in Business and Economics, Computer Science, Information Technologies, Innovation management, Psychology and a strong know how regarding effective curriculum design.
SEERC also incorporates the European branch of the UK – based Advanced Resource Efficiency Centre (AREC) of the University of Sheffield (https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/arec). The mission of AREC
Europe is to provide a bridge of co-creation for academia, industry and government on the field of environmental sustainability (including certifications) in Europe by employing the AREC-UK capacity built over the past 10 years in UK, USA and Asia with large corporations such as Rolls Royce, Jaguar Land-Rover, TATA Steel, etc. AREC has core expertise in terms of environmental
sustainability promotion and co-creation with SMEs and large global enterprises.
SEERC has been participating in the last 15 years in projects aiming at developing training toolkits at the vocational learning, higher education and adult education levels.
